I want to help you to rise up and above your worries and fears to grab onto life with passion and joy. I help you overcome your concerns so that you become free from chronic stress and anxiety.
As your counsellor, I provide the tools and skills to help you come to trust yourself, your values, and to honour your calling to live life the way you were meant to live.
My Counselling Style
I am a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental therapist. I will listen deeply to your concerns and offer insight with respect and empathy.
I employ a client-centred, holistic style of counselling where my focus is on helping you heal the root cause of your stress, anxiety or depression.
I help you focus on creating health in all areas of your life – emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
I treat each client as an individual who is doing the best they can at any given moment. My goal is to help you build your inner strength and resilience so you can live your life to the fullest.
Healing and Counselling Methods
The tools I use provide much more benefit than traditional talk therapy alone. These tools are known to help you get lasting relief from your symptoms.
HeartMath
HeartMath is a proven technology that is used to help people improve their health and performance. Its been shown to be highly effective at helping to reduce stress and to enhance and sustain positive emotions.
The HeartMath approach uses biofeedback tools which have been shown to increase coherence in heart rhythm patterns and increase synchronization and harmony among physiological systems that play a role in stress and anxiety. Ultimately, the HeartMath tools teach you how to recognize, allow, and then shift your bodily experience of stress and anxiety.
HeartMath tools not only reduce stress in the moment. They have been scientifically shown to significantly lower your body’s learned stress state. This leads to emotional resilience, increased energy, better focus, and a stronger immune system.
EFT Tapping, Mindfulness and Body Centred Awareness
Mindfulness is a scientifically proven, powerful counselling approach to help increase your awareness of stress and anxiety and to ultimately transform it.
I use several mindfulness approaches, including EFT Tapping to help you become more in tune with yourself, your body and your needs so that you can create the best possible life for yourself.
I am an accredited EFT Practitioner, trained through the EFT & Mindfulness Centre
Guided Imagery
Often, unresolved trauma is the source of anxiety or depression. Traditional talk therapy doesn’t allow processing and recovery from traumatic experiences.
Guided imagery is one way to gently and safely access and re-integrate the parts of you that became fractured off as a way to survive experiences that were too much to handle in the moment. The result of this work can be greater freedom from the past, a renewed sense of ‘wholeness’, and more ability to find a sense of ‘home’ in your body.
Hanging onto unfinished business can tether you in the past, causing you to feel ‘stuck’. Guided imagery work can help complete unfinished business and free you to live more fully in the present, and begin manifesting your dreams for the future.
